Council History
In February 1999 Father Jim Roche, the pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church brought forth an idea to form a church council.
On June 21st, 1999 Mother Teresa Council 12494 became a reality. A dedicated group of men banded together in a similar fashion as did Father Michael McGivney and this council was formed. Brother George Robillard was the first Grand Knight of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St. Christopher Council #12494. The council received the Knights of Columbus Charter from Supreme Council.
The 1st executive composed of George Robillard, Grand Knight, Thomas Rivard - Deputy Grand Knight, Marc St. Pierre - Financial Secretary, Norman Boutet - Treasurer, Keith Spratt, Recorder, Anthony Debly, Advocate, Dean Hughes, Lecturer, Michael Cheeseman, Trustee, Stanley Hoffman, Trustee, Amanuel Teclemariam, Trustee, Homer Bachand, Chancellor, Paul Smith, Warden, Steve Kerester, Outside Guard, Robert Caves, Inside Guard.
Help was provided by other church councils in District 39 and Brother Edward Marion, D.D.
May this council grow in Unity, Charity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.
